Lot 373: A British Army War Department (WD) Jerrycan, Dated 1945

A British Army War Department (WD) Jerrycan, dated 1945. This military-style steel fuel can features a utilitarian design with characteristic pressed panels for structural rigidity and a triple-bar handle. Visible markings include “W↑D” (Broad Arrow), a British military property mark, and the date “1945” stamped into the metal. A red plaque affixed near the lever-operated filler cap reads “CIVGAS F-50”, suggesting a civilian gas designation or repurposing.
