Lot 21: Cast Brass Sanctuary Hand Bell, Renaissance Revival Style, Relief Inscribed IANVS

A late 19th or early 20th-century cast brass sanctuary-style hand bell, designed in the Renaissance Revival taste. The bell features a flared body decorated with relief-moulded scrolling foliage and various figures, including avian and mythological motifs. A central band is inscribed with the text IANVS. The piece is topped with an integral loop handle and contains an internal ball clapper suspended by a wire. The exterior displays a natural aged patina, while the interior shows rough casting marks and significant verdigris oxidisation. Height approximately 6cm, diameter approximately 5cm.
