Lot 1117: British Pattern 1937 Webbing Waist Belt Dated 1944

A British Pattern 1937 (P37) webbing waist belt constructed from heavy khaki canvas. The belt is fitted with standard brass hardware, including a male-and-female interlocking front buckle, two lateral adjustment sliders, and two vertical hook sliders at the rear for the attachment of shoulder braces. The interior of the webbing features two distinct sets of ink-stamped markings. The first stamp identifies the manufacturer as Chadwick, dated 1944, with the size designation Normal. The second stamp includes the word UNION alongside a British War Department broad arrow symbol and the date 1944, indicating production in the Union of South Africa for Commonwealth forces.
