Lot 1210: Two items of English bone china including a lidded mug and a Redouté Rose pattern tennis set

This lot consists of two items of 20th-century English bone china. The first is a tea cup and tennis plate set decorated with a transfer-printed pattern of large red roses and green leaves, attributed to the Redouté Rose pattern by Roy Kirkham. The tea cup is footed with a flared rim and scrolled handle, while the elongated tennis plate features a scalloped edge and an offset circular well to accommodate the cup. Both the cup and plate are finished with a gilt line to the rims. The second item is a cylindrical lidded mug of white glazed bone china, featuring a transfer-printed floral design of orange lilies and green foliage executed in a style mimicking cross-stitch needlework. The mug includes a standard handle and a matching flat lid. No maker’s marks are visible on the underside of any of the pieces. Small adhesive labels with the code b8665 are present on the lid of the mug and the surface of the plate.
