A vintage cast metal pictorial belt buckle by The Great American Buckle Co., Chicago, dated 1980. The front features a relief-moulded scene of a Canadian landscape, depicting mountains, coniferous trees, and the head of a stag with antlers. A scroll banner across the top bears the word CANADA flanked by two maple leaves. The background is textured to provide contrast. The reverse is fitted with a hinged rectangular metal bail and a fixed rounded prong for attachment to a belt. The reverse bears the maker’s mark consisting of an eagle emblem surrounded by the text THE GREAT AMERICAN BUCKLE CO CHICAGO. It is further marked COPYRIGHT © 1980 and MADE IN USA with three stars. The belt loop plate is stamped with the model number 154.
