A late 19th or early 20th-century brass desk tap bell, of the type traditionally used as a hotel counter or reception service bell. The item is constructed from cast and lathe-turned brass components. The form features a domed bell housing mounted over a flared, circular base. A central plunger mechanism with a turned finial is positioned at the top to activate the internal striker. No maker marks or inscriptions are visible on the exterior surfaces.
