A machine-made decorative textile or wall hanging featuring a plush, velvet-like pile with a high-lustre finish. The design is executed in a traditional East Asian style, featuring a dark navy blue central field. The pictorial composition includes two red-roofed pagodas and stylised figures positioned amongst dense ruyi cloud scrolls and floral motifs. The colour palette consists of rose, sage green, cream, and ochre. The central field is topped with a decorative valance-like motif and is enclosed by multiple patterned borders with repeating cloud and floral elements. The construction is lightweight and flexible, finished with a simple blue fringe along the right edge. The material is characteristic of mercerised cotton or a synthetic fibre such as rayon.
