Lot 775: A Sulzer Diesel Engine Nameplate from British Rail Class 47 Locomotive 47455

A rectangular metal engine nameplate manufactured by Sulzer. The plate features the manufacturer name in block capital letters against a black ground. It is designed with four corner mounting holes for attachment to machinery. The reverse of the plate bears a handwritten adhesive label identifying the piece as being removed from the diesel engine of British Rail Class 47 locomotive, number 47455, formerly designated as D1576.
