Lot 803: A glazed ceramic model of a heavy draught horse in parade harness

Attributed to Melba Ware, this glazed ceramic model of a heavy draught horse, likely a Shire or Clydesdale, is depicted in full parade harness. The figure features a rich bay-brown glaze with white feathered detailing to the lower legs. The detailed harness is constructed from black synthetic or leather-style strapping, accented with brass-tone metal studs and linked metal chains. While no factory marks or signatures are visible on the body, the model is in the manner of mid-20th-century British ceramic manufacturers and is consistent with known examples from Melba Ware.
