This 19th-century oval ironstone serving platter is decorated in the popular Asiatic Pheasants pattern, a quintessential example of British blue transferware. The design features a central bouquet of roses and peonies, a pheasant in flight, and a butterfly, all rendered in a soft blue tone on a white ground. The platter is finished with a scalloped, moulded rim and a coordinating floral border. While no printed maker’s mark is present, the style and small impressed marks on the reverse are consistent with Staffordshire potteries of the Victorian era, such as Beech Hancock & Co. Approximately 340 mm x 265 mm.
