An early 20th century oak bureau bookcase of solid wood construction, dating from the Edwardian period. The upper section features a decorative shaped gallery with a central heart-motif fretwork cut-out, positioned above two open shelves. The middle section contains a fall-front desk which opens to reveal a fitted interior with vertical pigeonholes. The lower carcase is configured with a glazed cabinet door featuring a circular wood-framed motif alongside a single panelled cupboard door. The piece retains its original brass hardware, including drop handles and H-hinges. Construction details include a traditional panelled back and dovetail joints.
