Lot 266: An Assortment of Vintage and Contemporary Costume Jewellery

An assortment of vintage and contemporary costume jewellery comprising necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and brooches. The collection includes a variety of styles, from natural shell and wooden bead pieces to elaborate rhinestone-set metalwork.

Necklaces include a five-strand wooden bead piece featuring a large polished and carved mother-of-pearl shell pendant; a silver-tone openwork circular filigree-style pendant on multiple strands of dark brown glass seed beads; and a navy blue beaded statement choker with a central blue, white, and black striped decorative cylinder. Further necklaces include an elaborate gold-tone mesh bib design constructed from interlocking circular discs; a single strand of polished cowrie shells with a snail shell pendant; and a long strand of orange and yellow plastic beads with incised geometric patterns. Also present is a multi-strand red and black beaded necklace with silver-tone chain and large rectangular focal beads, a single strand of red beads, and a strand of imitation pearls.

Bracelets consist of a wide silver-tone openwork cuff densely set with multi-coloured faceted rhinestones in red, green, blue, and yellow, and a gold-tone wire-wrap cuff set with multi-coloured round beads.

Earrings and accessories include a pair of gold-tone filigree drop earrings with dark central inlays, a pair of silver-tone triple-drop earrings, a silver-tone brooch set with a large faceted purple glass stone, a gold-tone umbrella-shaped pin, and a stylized leaf pin. Materials used across the lot include base metals, glass, resin, plastic, imitation pearls, and natural shells. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the pieces.
