A collection of English lustre earthenware produced by the Maling pottery of Newcastle-on-Tyne. This group features a pair of low-form candlesticks, a circular bowl, and a small handled pin tray. The items are decorated in pattern number 6457, depicting hand-painted floral sprays including pansies and columbines against a black ground with a white rope-twist border. The candlesticks and bowl display a bright green thumbprint or scaling lustre to the upper sections, while the handled dish has a central well with a blue lustre finish. The bases carry the printed Maling castle mark and text reading NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE ENGLAND, alongside hand-painted pattern numbers.
Scale bar: 125 mm.
