Lot 154: Palitoy Action Man Searchlight Accessory Set Catalogue Number 34726
A vintage Palitoy Action Man Searchlight accessory set, manufactured by Palitoy Ltd. of Coalville, Leicester, England, under licence from Hasbro Industries Inc. The set is constructed from dark green moulded plastic and is marked as made in Hong Kong. The components include the main searchlight unit with a clear lens and internal bulb, a square textured plastic mounting base, and an internal cardboard packaging fitment. Also included is a circular green fabric accessory and the original four-page paper instruction manual, reference L299, which contains operating instructions and a Morse code reference chart. The searchlight is designed as a functional battery-operated toy, powered by a single 1289 4.5V battery (not included). It features a push-pull button switch on the rear for continuous beam or intermittent signalling use. The unit is designed to be free-standing or mounted to the Action Man Land Rover. The original colour-illustrated lidded box features the Action Man logo with pink lettering, the Palitoy logo, and four reward stars.
Condition report:
The searchlight and mounting base are in good used condition with no significant damage visible. The internal electrical wiring is present but the item is untested for working order. The instruction manual is intact with some minor handling creases. The original box shows moderate wear consistent with age, including edge scuffing, creasing, and areas of surface loss on the lid caused by the removal of original adhesive tape.
