Lot 64: Late Victorian Style Cast Brass Rotating Desk Bell on Wooden Base

A mechanical desk bell of cast brass construction, featuring a bell suspended within a curved yoke. The assembly is supported by two vertical pillars and includes a large spoked wheel to the side, which operates the internal clapper mechanism when rotated. The brass components are mounted onto a rectangular wooden plinth finished in black paint. The bell is decorated with concentric linear bands around the waist and sound bow. The supporting frame is secured to the base with four screws. This type of rotating bell is associated with servant summoning or office use from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
