This scientific instrument is a Universal Avometer Model 8 Mark III, manufactured by AVO Ltd. in Dover, England. The unit is housed in a black bakelite phenolic resin case with a textured dark bronze-coloured industrial faceplate. The front panel features two primary black rotary selector switches for D.C. ranges and A.C. and resistance ranges, alongside several adjustment knobs and connection terminals, including one distinctive red terminal. The large, curved analog display is protected by a clear window and contains multiple calibrated scales for resistance, current, voltage, and decibels. The front face is embossed with the logo UNIVERSAL AVOMETER and includes the text BRITISH PATENT and MADE IN ENGLAND.
