An internal lampworked glass paperweight featuring two stylized black birds with orange-red beaks appearing to fly amidst opaque white swirling ribbons. The internal figures are surrounded by a pattern of controlled air bubbles, often referred to as bullicante. The clear glass spherical body is finished with a ground and polished circular pontil mark to the base. This design and combination of lampworked inclusions with white swirls are characteristic of the mid-20th century output of Gentile Art Glass in Star City, West Virginia.
Diameter: Approximately 75mm.
