An original architectural rendering executed in watercolor with gouache highlights on heavy paper, signed J. Caldwell in the lower right corner. The composition depicts the main entrance to Manchester Airport, featuring a central white tensile structure supported by a red arch bearing the legend Manchester Airport Gateway to the World. To the left background is a red brick Hilton hotel building. The foreground shows a multi-lane roadway with two contemporary 1980s style motor vehicles, one in a champagne metallic finish and one in white.
