This lot comprises two Japanese decorative lidded ginger jars of ovoid form. The first is a black glazed porcelain example by Interpur, Japan. It features a high-gloss finish with gilt accents to the rim, base, and domed lid finial. The front displays a circular recessed medallion containing a hanaguruma (flower cart) motif in polychrome enamels with raised gold-tone detailing against a stippled background. The base is finished with a circular red felt covering. The second jar is of Satsuma style, made from cream-coloured earthenware. It is decorated with an all-over floral pattern featuring peonies in pink, orange, and blue enamels with extensive gilt highlighting. The design includes decorative geometric borders at the neck, foot, and lid rim, with the lid further embellished with a butterfly. A square red seal mark is present on the base.
