Lot 443: Mayflower Glass Cut Lead Crystal Egg Paperweight on Mirrored Wooden Stand

A Mayflower Glass lead crystal egg paperweight on a mirrored wooden stand. The clear lead crystal egg is decorated with intricate wheel-cut geometric patterns. The primary motif consists of a multi-pointed hobstar enclosed within a diamond frame, flanked by strawberry diamond cross-hatched infill. Radiating fan and mitre cuts extend towards the poles. The underside of the egg is finished with a multi-pointed star cut. The egg rests on a circular wooden stand with a dark finish and a mirrored glass top designed to enhance the refractive qualities of the crystal. The underside of the stand features a green felt base with a gold-foil maker’s mark for Mayflower Glass, depicting a sailing ship and the text Manufacturer of Artistic Glassware.
