A collection of 14 Brooke Bond Picture Card albums dating from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. These albums were published by Brooke Bond Tea Ltd and Brooke Bond Oxo Ltd as part of a long-running series of collectable cards found in tea packets. The group includes various natural history and historical subjects: Wild Flowers (Series 1), illustrated and described by C.F. Tunnicliffe R.A.; Wild Flowers (Series 3); Tropical Birds, illustrated and described by C.F. Tunnicliffe R.A.; Freshwater Fish, illustrated by E.V. Petts and described by A.F. Magri MacMahon; African Wild Life; Wildlife in Danger by Peter Scott; British Butterflies; Trees in Britain; British Costume; Flags and Emblems of the World; Famous People 1869-1969; Transport Through the Ages; The Saga of Ships; History of the Motor Car; and The Race Into Space: Man’s first 50 steps into the universe. The albums are softcover, staple-bound with illustrated card wraps. Noted illustrators include C.F. Tunnicliffe R.A. and Peter Scott. Several covers feature printed price markings including Sixpence and 5p.
